Oatmeal Cookies {Like How Ma Used to Make}

I have this thing for pre-baked cookies.
I liken them to puppies. Staring at them makes me go, "awwww" and all gooey and giddy inside. They are my all-time favourite things to look at (fine, next to frosted cupcakes). They look so well behaved little kids waiting to get out of the pan and into the fire to become the tough (but all soft on the inside) soldiers they're supposed to be. I'll tell you a secret. I like them better pre-baked than baked. It doesn't really matter what kind of cookies, as long as they're pre-baked.

Like this one from the Oreo Kahlua Cookies post
Or this one from the Saffron Pistachio Cookies post
Or this one from this post, pre-baked Oatmeal Cookies. See? Soo pretty, perfectly neat little thingamabobs.

I got the recipe for these oatmeal cookies from my ma's recipe book. You remember the magic of a notebook? The one which housed the recipe for the Perfectly Moist Chocolate Cake as well as the one for the ultimate Banana Bread? Like those two, this Oatmeal Cookie recipe is definitely a keeper. See? Fresh out of the oven and I can not wait to dig in.
Too bad I can't seem to find my ma's notebook, I know I tucked it somewhere safe but just can't remember where. I am so eager to try the Cupcakes, Upside Down Cake and the Apple Pie. I haven't made a traditional pie on this blog, right? I just realized that. Anyway, good thing ma made a copy of this recipe in another notebook. So here it is -

Oatmeal Cookies
350F/oops I forgot to count how many the recipe makes. Will bake another batch and let you know. Or how I wish my tummy can talk so she can tell you.

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
6 tbsp white sugar
6 tbsp brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp water
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Here's how
(1) Cream butter and sugar
(2) Add in the egg

(3) In a separate bowl, mix in flour, baking soda and salt then add to the butte-sugar-egg mixture.
(4) Add in vanilla and water
(5) Fold in oatmeal and the chocolate chips.
(6) Roll into small balls and bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown
At the end, I lost my patience in making regular sized cookies so I decided to make 2 big ones with what's left of the dough. Though I must admit, I like them regular sized, there's much more surface area that's crunchy.
